Cross Country Road Trip

Site Map

I just returned home on December 31, 2015 from a 17 day road trip across the United States.  The trip started with a flight from Orange County, California to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where I picked up my car and started the 3,500 mile drive across the United States.  First stop was in Georgia to photograph an auto junkyard full of old and rusting cars to add to my car image collection of old and abandoned cars (Junk Yard Cars).  From there I started my Back Roads journey to El Paso, Texas where I finally started driving home on the Interstate system (map coming soon).  My route took me through Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas and New Mexico - all on mostly small two lanes roads.  The high point of the trip - weather-wise, was getting stuck in Artesia, New Mexico for three days due to the “Great Blizzard” of 2015.  Check out some of my snow images here - three feet of snow on my car in one day and one night.  And then to cap it all off, I hit a curb and blew out a tire.   I had to drive 200 miles to El Paso to get a replacement.  All-in-all though, a great trip with some wonderful experiences.  More photographs coming soon.
