Having spent the weekend in Monterey and Carmel for Rennsport V, I decided that a change of pace would be nice for the drive home. Driving up to Monterey from southern California, I took the standard route - the 5 to the 46 to the 101. It’s definitely an easy drive, at least once you get out of LA. For my drive home, it was Route 1 through Big Sur, considered one of the most beautiful drives in the world, and to boot I’d be doing it in my Porsche. What more could a person ask for? Although most of the trip from Carmel to San Simeon was cloudy and overcast, it was a great drive. Even though is only a 90 miles drive from Carmel to San Simeon, I may take two days on my next trip to allow for more time to photograph this amazing place. (The red Porsche is a friend’s car from Kentucky.)
